*Must pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking this lifeguard course.*
Learn how to effectively prevent and respond to water emergencies with this American Red Cross lifeguard training. designed to equip students with skills and knowledge to prepare for a variety of scenarios in and around the water, our lifeguard training teaches how quick response times and effective preparation are vital. Students will learn crucial elements in helping to prevent drownings and injuries.
This course includes a lifeguard manual, CPR mask, instruction, and practical and written exams.

Participants must bring a bathing suit, towel, water bottle, dry clothing for classroom activities, and snacks (if needed).​

Those planning to work for the Port Huron Parks and Recreation Department are reimbursed for the full course payment if they sign a contract to work the 2026 summer season at our city owned pools, Court St. Pool and/or Sanborn Pool.
